NSW Government
ROLE
Senior UX/Visual Designer in OneCX program.
TASK
Analyse existing NSW Health Department’s Health Service Finder, conduct user testing research, optimise and design the new experience to be built on nsw.gov.au as part of the OneCX program migrating existing government agencies and organisation websites over to one platform under nsw.gov.au.
CURRENT EXPERIENCE
Existing NSW Health Service information was not centralised.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
Use insights and existing user data to create a more intuitive and informative health service search experience on desktop and mobile with the nsw.gov.au design system and design patterns. One of the requirements was to incorporate the search functionality and data of healthdirect.gov.au. As part of the redesign I firstly mapped the IA to see how it should be accessed under the migration of NSW Health Department onto nsw.gov.au. Then using the nsw.gov.au design system I created prototypes to test with customers and analysed existing data to gain insights on where issues occurred when finding the right information for health services and to inform the optimised experience. Insights included were, how and what order do customers search for events such as location, date and category and what information is important to the customer when selecting service.
